Tufts University School of Medicine is committed to solving global health challenges by advancing the fields of medicine, public health, and healthcare technology. Our graduate programs emphasize academic innovation, interpersonal collaboration, and a research-driven approach to real-world practice.
Our online Master of Science in Health Informatics & Analytics program brings that mission to life for data-driven health advocates around the United States.
Developed using research on how students learn best in an online environment, the curriculum and learning technology prioritize connection and community—the same values that drive our students and faculty to improve people’s lives in their hometowns and around the world.
The Intuitive Digital Campus
Your seamless online experience begins with the dashboard, which provides access to classes, peers, assignments, grades, and support services.
With just a computer, web cam, and Internet access, you become part of our collaborative community of health IT and public health students and practitioners. The mobile app features an offline mode, so you can download videos to view and complete assignments even in areas with no connection.
Participate in weekly seminar-style classes where you will think critically and develop an understanding of emerging health and data concepts.
Complete interactive course work including video case studies, experiential work, and group assignments, on your own schedule.
Meet one-on-one with distinguished Tufts Public Health faculty to further discuss course content during office hours.
Collaborate with a diverse group of peers by completing group work in breakout rooms during class or meeting through the platform at any time.
The platform allows you to personalize your experience based on your learning style and other sensory needs, using features such as:
Searchable video transcripts
Adjustable video speed
Streaming to TV or Bluetooth
During the program, you will participate in a three-day immersion experience on the Tufts University campus in Boston, a global center for medicine and public health. At the immersion, you will be introduced to the capstone project and refine your project plan as you attend seminars on problem-solving and project management, taught by Health Informatics & Analytics faculty. You will also meet your peers in person during networking events.
Support for Online Students
At Tufts, we provide a variety of personalized support and services to help guide you to academic and professional success.
When you express interest in our program, you are assigned a dedicated admissions counselor who is your resource throughout the application process and can provide you with a firsthand look at our online classroom.
Once enrolled, our technical support team is available 24/7 to help you navigate the online platform or troubleshoot any difficulties you encounter.
You will have access to the same career services as on-campus students, including Handshake, our online career management tool and recruiting platform that connects students and alumni to employers for jobs, internships, and career events. These resources remain available to you after graduation.
All online students are invited to walk at Tufts’ on-campus graduation ceremony. Held every May in Boston, this experience allows you to celebrate your achievements alongside your peers and solidifies your connection to the Tufts community.
